The current (9/23/2010) Forum module - the one you are in right now - seems very clunky.  You have to do a lot of drilling and scrolling to find messages of interest.

We're are interested in modifying the current Forum Module (what such tools are called in this Drupal world) or looking for a better Module that can be integrated with the site.

We want a Forum experience that will work for the curious visitor -- quickly help them find interesting topics and read what is being said - as well as the active forum contributor, who know which Forums they want to focus on.

So, has anyone seen a  good Forum they really liked?  What in particular did you like about it?  Can you provide URLs to where it has been used?
